First Steps

It can be quite daunting to make the first step towards seeking help. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and fully informed about the counselling process, so our first session will be a free 30 minute session. This initial session will give us a chance to get to know each other, discuss what counselling is and look at the concerns and issues you want to work on. For clients who have already worked with me, the first session will be a full session as no consultation is needed.  

Our sessions will take place at an agreed day and time. Each session is 50 minutes long. There are no set rules of how many sessions you will need to overcome your challenges as this varies for each client, but we will agree an initial number of sessions in our first meeting. This will be included in our counselling contract, which can be changed and reviewed as you move forward. 


I usually offer both face to face and telephone or online sessions.  However, at the moment with COVID-19 restrictions, all my sessions are either telephone or online. Each session is 50 minutes long.


Face-to-face Session: £50

Telephone or online Session: £45

A limited amount of sessions are available at a reduced rate for those in financial difficulties - to be discussed and decided in the initial session.

Fees can only be paid by bank transfer at the moment.


Cancelling a session with less than 24 hours notice will still incur the fee.
